Police arrest man who Scared Rare Peacock to Death

Orlando - Police in Orlando arrested a 35 year old man who has been charged with the death of a very rare peacock, in the Orlando Zoo. Greta, a 3 year old Australian Spotted peacock, was pronounced dead-on-arrival at the Kingview Animal Trauma Center, apparently dead of fright. Her heart showed extreme signs of stress fatigue and it was obvious that the bird was living a life in fear.

Barney Whelan was arrested after he was caught near the scene of the crime and confessed to the events which led to Greta's death. Says Whelan - "The bird was always staring at me. I didn't like that and I warned her. Finally, I popped up behind her and yelled BOO !!...Then the peacock dropped dead..."

Police have alleged that Whelan spent many evenings at the Orlando Zoo, apparently seeking revenge after an incident where Greta spit a stream of bird puke into his face. He was angry and workers escorted him out of the zoo. However, Whelan returned with a motive and literally scared Greta to her grave.

Says Billy Baxter, the zookeeper - " The bird was paranoid to begin with...I just hope she died without pain...
