Tough Boss Runs a tough Office

Montreal - Robert Sweet, owner of Sweet's Office Supplies, was taken into custody when a worker told them of the horrors taking place at their workplace. Sweet, 62, admitted that sometimes he was " a little tough" but denied that he was using extreme measures to build the most efficient office staff in Canada.Upon hearing reports of slavery and brutality, police planted a hidden camera on one employee, and photo-evidence was submitted to the crown prosecutor. Bill Hopson, a sixteen year employee of Sweet's firm, hesitated giving any info to reporters, but The Mudpile has learned that Hopson was often chained to his desk in order to prevent him from straying too far from the phone. His arm has been examined by doctors, and it was discovered that it was two inches longer than the other arm - a consequence of heaving a 30 pound steel chain all day long.

Sweet declined to say much, except that his management techniques were strict only because his employees were not working as hard as they should be. He mentioned that often, many of the employees would take more than 15 minutes for lunch, and that was unacceptable. "If they don't like the way I treat them, they're free to leave...". Hopson will not quit, stating that "Sweet is really a good guy deep inside his heart...it's just that we've been slacking off..." Hopson also mentioned that Sweet doesn't beat them anymore, and that things seem to have gotten better.

Another employee told reporters how Sweet used to glue her feet to the floor, so that she couldn't move from her desk. She pointed out other incidents, particularly one in which Sweet made employees keep the bathroom door open so that he could make sure they were really in there to relieve themselves.

The staff at Sweet's Office Supplies will be examined by psychologists to determine whether there is any permanent mental damge due to this bitter ordeal.

"If Sweet thought you were slacking off, he made you wear a blindfold so you wouldn't get distracted when you were on the phone with customers. "
