Girl gets Full-Time job Painting Pyramids

Egypt  - Betty Plotnik applied for a job as a painter, but got the surprise of her life when she was hired by the Egyptian government to paint the pyramids. " I was astounded that they would give an amateur painter like myself the responsibility of painting the great pyramids...". She flew to Egypt last week and immediately ordered 3 million gallons of semi-gloss latex, exterior, to use in her work. Although locals insist that it is going to be solely a task for brush-only work, Betty insists that a roller will get the job done quicker. "The blocks are even and flat, and I figure I can do a couple of thousand square feet a day." Regardless, Betty has her work out out for her. The largest of the pyramids ought to take her 9 years to do, at which point she may secure a contract to do the interior as well. Says Haik Boouhad, of the Egyptian government - " We need to see how well she does the outside first, and then we'll see whether she's qualified to do the interior...". Many of betty's friends agree that she is the right person for the job. "Her persistence to do something right, and see it through, ought to make her the best person for a job of that magnitude...she's always been one to take on a challenge..." says Barry Waithe, long time friend. The Mudpile will follow Betty's story and keep you informed.
