Ladders Disappear as Thief goes On the Prowl

Edmonton  - When Larry Whitmore went to climb off his roof, he knew he was in trouble. His 30 foot heavy duty ladder was gone, apparently stolen by the city's newest terror - the ladder thief. Larry was rescued by his wife, who called a neighbor with a rope. His story is one of the many the City of Edmonton has seen in the last two months.

Last week, 40 ladders had gone missing, leaving many of the residents in fear for their safety. " What's gonna happen when the gutters need cleaning ?" asked Rodney Bower. Another resident was severely affected by the loss of his ladder. Chimney sweep Doug Gatling had recently managed to escape death after he fell 14 feet, trying to climb down a ladder that wasn't there.

The Edmonton police force has called on agents from the United States FBI to help solve this crime. Apparently, the RCMP was not overly concerned with the thefts, and has dismissed them as petty thefts by a stupid man. "Surely someone has got to recognized the danger of the thefts...what will the bastard steal next...a fire truck ladder ? What's gonna happen if there's a fire ?"

FBI profilers have already described the alleged thief as " a very religious man who believes he needs all those ladders to climb to heaven where he can meet God...".

If anyone has witnessed a large amount of ladders in the area, please call the Edmonton Police department. In the meantime, residents are warned to climb in groups and to avoid dark rooves and high places altogether.
