"I knew I could do it, all those days practicing in the backyard was going to pay off this year." Burns said. "This has been my dream for years. Ever since I was a little boy and we would watch the guys toss dung from the side of the street I knew that one day I too would be a professional dung thrower."

Burns was off to a quick start beating last year's 2nd and 3rd place rankest John Bradley and Joseph Stalker. Next Burns smashed the world's top 4 ranked tossers not giving any room for them to breathe. 

"He was all business, not even talking to the rest of us. We knew this kid was nothing but serious." said John Bradley, who placed 2nd last year. "For a rookie this is a glorious honor and he has come a long way for such a short career."

"I just closed my eyes, envisioned the throw, and tossed it. It didn't even seem like I tried hard at all, it was just so smooth." Burns stated. "When I opened my eyes the eyes of the judges told me that I had preformed well, and the sound of the crowd was more then enough to make me proud."

Alex plans to practice day in and day out to hold his title for next year's competition.

"I'm very proud of him. Although his father and I have pushed him into other areas of interest he followed his heart. If Alex is happy slinging dung then I'm a happy mother."
