| Consumer Tip On What Not To Buy! |

![]() At first, 75 bucks seemed like a good deal for a 56K modem loaded with voice messaging features. However, unless you have a technician ready to help you install this contraption, dish out a few more dollars for a name brand which is more credible. The problem began with the installation which prompted my computer to keep asking for a disk which was already in the drive. It turned out the disk was defective. Then, a second try at the installation resulted in a modem which was inoperative, and conflicted with every other peripheral in my box. A third replacement installed fine, but it had the tendancy to lock up and disconnect when used for more than 10 minutes. I give this piece of electronic quibble a 2 thumbs down. My advice ? Spend a little more and get yourself a US Robotics 56K. It's 100 % worry and trouble free. If you want a voice messaging system, buy a fancy telephone. Consumer Feedback: " I don't know anything about modems or computers. I just installed it and hoped it would work. It didn't. What a piece of junk." Steven Kirby "I've used Zoltrix products before, and have always been satisfied, but this 56K just didn't seem to work at the level I expected..." Kevin Dubeau -Opinions are sent in

Golfer's 7th hole Swing results in One Down - one Arrest Orlando, FL- Peter Hutchens wanted to spend a nice quiet afternoon indulging in his favorite pasttime, but instead ended up in the county hospital with a severe throat and head injury. Hutchens, 46, was at the edge of the green of the 7th hole, and had just bent over to pick up his ball. At the other end, Samuel Finestone had just teed off, sending the ball flying towards Hutchens and eventually into his mouth. The ball lodged itself deep in his windpipe, causing him to begin choking. Bystanders immediately rushed to his aid, but Finestone, who had made his way to the scene, pointed out that the ball could not be moved unless he allowed it. Finestone reminded them that the National Golf Rule Book (article 2-paragraph 7 ) clearly stipulated that the owner of the ball is the only person allowed to remove the ball from its point of landing . However, the golf club manager finally convinced him that in this case, the rules would have to be broken. Finestone took offense and began swinging his club at Hutchens' head, hoping that he would somehow be able to drive the golf ball out of his throat and onto the green. There was a scuffle, and Finestone was subdued and has since been charged with 2nd degree assault. Hutchens was resucitated and will live to play another round of golf again. |
